Farsheed Ferdowsi

Following a year of postgraduate studies at Vanderbilt University, Farsheed Ferdowsi founded Access Data—a business software development firm in 1979. This was followed by a string of other companies in the information technology and business services industry.

In 1991, he founded PayMaxx, a payroll service outsourcing company, which took off on the national scene reaching the rank of top-10 largest in the USA. PayMaxx was included in the prestigious Inc. 500 list for four consecutive years and was a five-time winner of the Nashville Area Chamber’s Future 50 Hall of Fame award. In 2005, PayMaxx combined its operations with CompuPay where Mr. Ferdowsi served as Chief Development Officer for two years. After a brief hiatus from his 30-year career in the payroll services business, he decided to reengage the industry he loves by launching Inova Payroll™.

Farsheed was recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002 and is an alumnus of Leadership Nashville. Throughout the years, he has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations in Middle-Tennessee. These include the Red Cross, the Nashville Zoo, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Middle Tennessee YMCA, and the Rotary Club of Nashville.

He holds a master’s degree in structural engineering from U.C. Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Vanderbilt University.

For more than twenty years, Rick has provided senior leadership for both payroll and technology driven companies. He is adept at finding creative solutions to business operational and technology challenges. With his extensive analytical and security related background, Rick excels at breaking down processes to their most basic components and re-engineering them for optimal efficiency.

Rick brings to Inova Payroll his richly diverse set of skills including: Client Management, Project Management, Security and Industry Compliance Readiness. He is charged with setting the operational and overall technology strategy, driving execution, and creating best practices for all Inova Payroll Services.

Benjamin Todd, CPA
Benjamin Todd, CPACFO
Ben has held a variety of key positions throughout his career within the payroll outsourcing industry. At PayMaxx and other service bureaus, the scope of his experience ranges from client funds balancing to managing tax filing services; from overseeing the money movement processes to reconcilement, investment, and other treasury functions.

Ben’s wealth of experience has uniquely prepared him for virtually any type of situation faced by companies, particularly related to financial matters, and especially those involving payroll related objectives. In addition, he has intimately participated in multiple corporate acquisitions within the payroll outsourcing business as well as functioning as the controller in the corporate accounting department at Inova Payroll.

Ben holds an active Tennessee certified public accountant license, a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in information systems from Middle Tennessee State University, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Austin Peay State University. He is a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs.

Melanie Crow

Melanie is a thirty year industry veteran who brings big-picture perspective to her role at Inova Payroll. Having served in leadership positions throughout her career in the payroll and human resources industries she helped launch PayMaxx. She brings extensive expertise to provide hands-on and consultative solutions that help companies save time and money so they can focus on their core business.

A consummate professional, Melanie prides herself on establishing long term relationships with her clients, never taking a “hit and run” sales approach. Happy customers before, during and after the sale are important, and that’s what sets Melanie apart from the rest.

Melanie, along with Jordan, leads Inova’s HR and payroll sales efforts and is focused on providing solutions tailored to meet clients’ needs. Her experience in meeting the complex requirements of large employers makes her especially suited to bring value to major accounts. She holds a PHR certification through HRCI and a SHRM-CP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management. She is also an active member of the local chapter of SHRM where she has served on the Membership Committee.

Jordan Rush

With more than seven years’ industry experience, Jordan practices a consultative approach that focuses specifically on the client’s needs. Thus he delivers the optimum payroll and HR solutions to Inova clients that help them save time and money. His hands-on approach doesn’t stop after the sale; Jordan frequently reaches out to clients to make sure they are satisfied with the value they receive from Inova Payroll.

Along with Melanie, Jordan leads Inova Payroll’s national HR and payroll sales efforts. Customer loyalty and personalized service are extremely important to Jordan’s business philosophy, and he treats every client— no matter how large or small—with the same personalized service. Like the rest of Inova’s Executive Team, Jordan has a reputation of going the extra mile for our clients.

Charlie Wood
Charlie WoodVP Payroll Operations
While the majority of his career has been spent in payroll outsourcing, Charlie brings more than 20 years of experience in operations, business analysis, customer care, and process improvement with technology driven organizations. His industry experience includes Financial, Healthcare, Academic, and Manufacturing. At Inova Payroll, Charlie oversees the operational teams who ensure that clients receive personalized, high-touch customer care.

Charlie has served in key management positions throughout his career including nine years with a national payroll organization where he oversaw the relationships of more than 2,500 clients. His diversified skills and focus on client satisfaction is a valuable asset and will help Inova Payroll maintain the highest satisfaction for our clients.
Charlie holds a master of business administration degree from the Massey School of Business at Belmont University.

Kevin Venza
Kevin VenzaVP Advanced HR Services
Kevin has 11+ years’ experience working with cloud-based software in the area of human capital management. Three of those years were in front line implementation, service, and technical lead roles. For the last 8+ years he managed a variety of groups responsible for both project management and software implementation, including payroll, HR, benefits and time & labor.

Venza holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in computer information systems from Georgia State University. He also holds the Fundamental Payroll Certification from the American Payroll Association and is a Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist® as designated by the Health Care Reform Center & Policy Institute and Healthcare Reform Magazine.

Gary White
Gary WhiteVP Tax & Compliance
Gary brings more than 30 years of accounting experience to Inova Payroll. Upon graduation from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Business Administration, he worked for a national accounting firm in Atlanta. He later served in a controllership role for two privately held manufacturing companies. Gary returned to the service industry 16 years ago, where he has been overseeing such areas as financial reporting, treasury management, risk management and insurance, facilities management, payroll and payroll taxes, human resources and employee benefits.

Gary is very committed to ensuring that all Inova clients are in compliance with applicable payroll tax laws and regulations and that all tax payments are made in a timely and accurate manner. Gary is a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.

John Volhein
John VolheinVP Information Systems
John has over 25 years of experience in various information technology roles. His background includes all aspects of network design, installation, project management, and strategy and provides the foundation to lead and manage all IT resources at Inova Payroll. John has worked in the manufacturing, call center, healthcare, and service industries and has spent the last 12+ years in the payroll outsourcing industry.

John is responsible for all computing and communications systems at Inova. He oversees the daily operations and strategic direction of the IT department and is charged with setting the overall technology strategy, maintaining security standards and procedures, and helping define process improvement.

Barry Campbell
Barry CampbellVP Human Capital
With more than twenty years’ experience in various human resource roles, Barry has the knowledge and skill to support many market segments. He obtained his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification in 2000 and has remained current with recertification activities. This certification is awarded by the Society of Human Resource Management and demonstrates mastery in the body of knowledge, practical experience and strategic application of human resources management.

Barry leads the company’s internal HR strategies, including recruitment and retention, employee benefits administration, employee relations, training and organizational development and related compliance.

Barry has served on various committees and task forces in the community and formerly served on the Board of Directors for the local chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.
