Payroll Implementation Manager – Chattanooga, TN

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Implementation Manager is responsible for the management and leadership of the Evolution payroll implementation team.  The position is responsible for ensuring excellent client service, satisfaction, as well as implementation and transition of new clients.  Oversight will include ensuring that daily and periodic tasks are completed as scheduled in compliance with policies and procedures.  The qualified candidate for this position will manage experienced operational teams, set goals, and provide direction to the location in accordance with Sr. Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for managing, mentoring, coaching and developing implementation staff to meet current position requirements as well as progression proficiencies and succession planning
  • Provide leadership and oversight of team members, promoting a positive team environment
  • Provide direct oversight of implementation process to build scalable, repeatable processes ensuring timely and accurate implementations
  • Evaluate individual and team performance to ensure a positive balance between client satisfaction and internal staffing levels
  • Collaborate with sales team regarding system modules, processes, and the needs of prospective clients
  • Ensure all custom or non-standard client requests are fully mitigated during the course of implementation
  • Leverage existing expertise and processes while also embracing new ideas to manage daily performance of staff and systems to ensure high level of client service
  • Stay current on regulations and requirements impacting the payroll process
  • Identify potential areas of risk or vulnerabilities and develop specific actionable solutions
  • Participate in projects for development of new tools and processes based on organizational needs
  • Identify gaps in team training and/or performance to improve process efficiencies and client service levels
  • Identify and resolve areas of miscommunication or procedural gaps between Implementation and Support
  • Provide assistance and guidance to all departments as needed related to client issues or internal support
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for Evolution platform; provide continuous training and development to internal team on Evolution software
  • Maintain timely and excellent communication skills
  • Oversee the management and completion of special projects assigned to the team
  • Leverage technology and processes to gain efficiencies
  • Evaluate and adopt the use of KPIs which support the implementation process
  • Ensure compliance to existing and communicated SOC1 audit control objectives
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of management reporting (goals, dashboards)
  • Promote and enforce adherence to personnel policies and procedures
  • Focused on prevention and immediate escalation of any suspicious or potentially fraudulent activity
  • Work with external vendors and suppliers as needed
  • Responsible for the escalation and/or coordination of issues related to facilities or work area improvements as needed

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE or CERTIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of 5 years of prior management experience in the areas of payroll, accounting, finance or Human Resources.
  2. Demonstrated leadership involving skilled teams and change management
  3. Experienced and extremely comfortable with learning and using payroll applications and office technology
  4. CPP, SPHR, FPC or PHR strongly preferred
  5. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  6. Demonstrated experience in fast paced payroll environment
  7. Knowledge and understanding of payroll tax compliance
