We want to share with you a few developments we’ve identified that will impact employers. Because official decisions related to COVID-19 are being announced daily, we recommend regularly checking with federal agencies as well as your state and local governments for updates.

COVID-19 Survival Guide

Our partner, Asure Software, has created a COVID-19 Survival Guide that provides HR best practices and resources for small and mid-sized businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Poster Requirement

Employers are required to post the U.S. Department of Labor’s Families First Coronavirus Response Act notice starting April 1, 2020. If employees are working remotely, you can email the poster or add it to an employee intranet.

FFCRA Guidance for Employers

The U.S. Department of Labor has provided guidance to employers on paid sick time and medical leave required under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, including a fact sheet for employers and a Q & A document.

Beware of Scams

Consumers are not the only ones at risk for Coronavirus scams – businesses are too. The Federal Trade Commission is warning businesses to keep their guard up to protect against these seven scams.

Inova’s COVID-19 Response

In this unprecedented time, we’ve heard from many of our clients about the challenges they are facing and what they need right now. While many things are uncertain, there is no uncertainty in our focus on you and providing the most dependable and helpful support possible.

You have been forced to change the way you do business in these uncertain times, and so have we. Here’s what we are doing to work through current challenges and support you in any way we can.

  • Two laws were passed in March to support individuals and businesses during the pandemic. We are reading the texts of the laws and using federal agency guidance to understand how employers can best take advantage of new programs. We’re sharing the resources we’ve found helpful with you here on this page and will make regular updates.
  • Due to various state and municipal stay-at-home orders, many of our team members are working remotely. Support representatives and teams are accessible via the same email address and phone number you are accustomed to using. Because payroll is considered an essential service, we have a few staff members in each office maintaining check printing and deliveries per our normal schedules. We are following CDC guidelines for keeping our employees and workplaces safe.
  • Our client service representatives are handling increased calls and requests and stand ready to make special arrangements to assist you with payroll, deliveries, and reporting to provide the support you need right now.
  • Our IT and security experts are monitoring an increase in phishing emails related to COVID-19. Vendors are sending large numbers of emails about the virus, and scammers are taking advantage of that. The security of your data is paramount and must be maintained at all times, regardless of other emergencies.
